I have received my Desert Star B Bender yesterday. I have to admit that this thing surpassed all my expectations. This is a pic of @LtDave32 posing with it before he shipped it out.

The guitar is amazing, Dave did a special neck carve as I like them big. I wanted a fat neck like my R7. Big frets was my other neck request. Dave got it done.

The other important feature was a nod to old school Teles. I wanted the single layer 5 screw pickguard. Though the most important element was the “Mary Kaye” translucent Olympic white Finish over the grainy Ash body. Dave did a super fantastic job,... it is perfect.

Dave suggested the Electric City “Black Scotch” pickup pair and the MSSC wiring harness and paper-in-oil capacitor. Outstanding suggestion.

The B Bender is what encouraged me to contact Dave in the first place. I have seen a few offerings by Fender that was available but I wasn’t impressed. A custom build with the bender sold me.

The bender mechanism is a Parson-Green Bender manufactured by Hipshot. A quality made device. Very solid stable and smooth operating. Fully adjustable. Love it.

I have only put a few hours on it but I am totally satisfied with how this turned out. The sound of this guitar is to die for,... from fat to sweet and all clarity and chime you can ask for. Which is important for a B Bender. If you can’t hear the b string what good is it?

Enough script now for some pics.

I failed to mention that there's a couple of adjustments inside the unit in the way of pin positions that look like they can manipulate leverage points of the spring and the cams. You *might* be able to adjust the tension or taughtness of the string pull mechanism. I've never done that, but that doesn't mean there isn't a provision for it.

Update:

Well it’s been a few days and a couple of things to take note. One is it's tuning stability,... besides Dave giving it a perfect setup the guitar remains in perfect tune. I figured out the solo in “All of my love” by LZ.... a obvious use of a b bender by Jimmy Page.... with heavy bender use the guitar has remained in tune. The frets are just perfect.

The second thing is how light this guitar is. Maybe a little over 7 pounds,... it’s lighter than my R9 that is 7.9 pounds. Very comfortable on the shoulder which is nice.

It seems to play like an old friend,... I have bonded with it very quickly. This one is hard to put down. :)
