Rigid sanders are about to become the TP of the woodworking world....If they are, I'm buying another one, for I have just about worn my first one out.

Rigid better not discontinue that sander. It's one of the most used tools in the shop.

Rox, I can recommend a good template set for SG. My guy is accurate and fast to ship. It's a bear trying to do it from a paper printout.
As well, I made a bevel template that I draw around to get the bevels concentric.. Way easier.
Wow.Yes, I would be thrilled to get templates! I was going to try to design my own using all my SGs lol.
I will let everyone know what Ridgid says. I've been looking at it online every couple of weeks and suddenly today.... it's you can only buy in your local store, no shipping to store or home on this item. Then I saw a post for someone on here saying it is discontinued. If you go onto Ridgid's website and try to buy it it takes you to a Home Depot page that just says this item is not available. There are none in any of the stores within 100 miles of me all of a sudden. It doesn't look good.
Wow.
Lowe's is only listing Wen and Triton.
Home Depot shows "limited stock" in most stores in SoCal, but not available for home delivery.
They do have a Wen for $208 that has the drop-away front table.
I'm looking at the Triton now for what I'm probably going to end up with if Ridgid is done. The Triton does at least have a metal table and the Wen's is plastic. The Triton also has a 3 year warranty instead of the 2 the Wen has. I do have a Wen drill press and it's served me well for several years now. And I have a Wen bench sander that I mostly use for nuts and other small things.
The Grizzley is a one year warranty. It weighs less than the Triton and Wen, but I don't know if that is a good thing.
Like I said above, go with the longest warranty. Those machines , like the Rigid have a tendency to beat themselves up with that oscillating action. Lots of vibration.
The Rigid is a better machine by far, and you can find it on sale here and there. Maybe you can get on on clearance?
I got mine for $199, but that was 8 years ago.
Maybe a Gibson scalelength neck no trem Jazzmaster.
That’ll throw me right off my six licks (if I hadn’t been playing a lot of SG lately).
