Been without a guitar for awhile so I snagged this off zzounds.com. Digging the new headstock shape, and the fretboard was jet black (dyed I'm sure but who cares!). It was really dusty for some reason, but after a wipe down and tune up it sounds and feels great. Waiting to restring and oil the fretboard until I do the pickup swap. Here she is...

I don't like pickgaurds on any finish LP, solid or burst so I removed that. Weighed in on my scale at 8 pounds 8 ounces. I added some strap locks and have some EMG 57/66 pickups going in. (Don't hate on the pickup choice, I like what I like.)

I agree with putting the pickguard back on.
Really looks like something is missing for sure.

Congrats on the lpc, looks pretty darn sweet with pickguard on or off to me. Your guitar, your choice!

Your choice of pickups should be what you like. Pickguard or not, there is nothing any sweeter looking than a black Custom. Enjoy!

I prefer the pickguard on, but hey, that's just me. But for the love of Les, OIL THAT FRETBOARD!

Yeah man congrats on the Custom LP !! I am a no pick guard kinda guy but i have to admit that i wound up putting the pick plate back on .. i found a white pealoid pick guard and it just makes the guitar pop!! I like those pick ups you are planning on using. Have thought about putting a set in one of my LP's as well.. good luck and have fun man thats a sweet guitar!!
