Went to get new strings, and picked out a set that were pre-installed on a Classic Series 60s Strat in candy apple red. Serial number looks like it's a 2015 model year. This plays and sounds amazing. Fit and finish is outstanding. The pickups sounded amazing in the store, and I was convinced that they weren't the stock ones. CAR is such a beautiful color in person.

So when I got it home that night, I cracked open the hood to see what was underneath the hood, and this is what I found:

Pleasantly surprised to find this setup - Custom Shop Fat 60's pickups, with CTS pots, CRL switch, and Orange Drop cap.
No wonder it sounded so good!

I had a Squier CAR '60s, such a sexy color. And held a Hendrix-owned CAR that was gorgoeous

Nice guitar, congrats. Looks exactly like the one on my bench getting a new bone nut and locking tuners.

Congrats man!!!!

And it sounds as good as it looks? You got a great deal!

Hopefully you'll keep this one longer than the orange?

Congratulations
I love this color in strats.. my American Special is in same finish and came with white pickguard too. However, I replaced it with a black HS pickguard.. it is more of a Charvel now :fingersx:

It’s a Classic Player 60s, designed by the Custom Shop and the pickups and mint green pickguard are stock.

Classic players have the 2 point trem and 12" radius. Also the pickups that come in the Classic Players don't have beveled pole pieces.

This is a classic series with the vintage 6 screw trem and 7.25" trem. The stock pickups these came with were "vintage styled"MIM alnico pickups.

This guitar has custom shop fat 60's, CTS pots, CRL switch and vintage Gavitt wiring. It looks so neat that it was probably ordered as a loaded pickguard.

Mmmmmmmm. Nice!! :applause:

Gotta love a bit of Candy Apple Red, especially on such a beautiful classic-looking Strat. Leo’s favourite guitar finish (allegedly) and that one’s a gem. Congratulations!

And loaded with lots of goodies for big Strat tonez too...!

What’s not to like?!

I wish all my new strings came so nicely packaged (!)
:laugh2:
