Just got this Thursday from Willcutt Guitars.

Willcutt commissioned the Fender Custom Shop to build 63 of these modeled off the specs of a vintage 63 they own.

The finish is just what I was looking for, and the body has beautiful checking all over.

Comes loaded with pup's hand wound by Josefina.

The only complaint was that the fretboard was very dry when I received the guitar, but a little Fret Dr. fret oil cured that.

Oddly enough, Sunburst Strats with R/W finger boards, that are not releced to death, are not as plentiful as one might expect.

Thanks!

Thing is, I have an Oly white Strat, and a blonde Mary Kay Strat, but have always wanted a good sunburst.

( I was looking for a S/B one when I bought the Mary Kay, because it plays so well).

Then when I started looking, i found that a good old S/B Strat with rosewood and not reliced all to hell, was actually pretty hard to find.

Unless you want to pay out the nose for a Wildwood one, and even the ones they had did not do it for me.

Maybe I'll commission John Cruz to build my next one, and skip the Fender markup!
