Congrats, that is one of the most beautiful guitars ever built!

Rudi have a really beautiful guitar right there. Come on Rudi, show us some more:applause::applause::applause:

Thanks Nico & Magnus. Much appreciated. :thumb: :)

OK guys, so I'll post one more pic of 006 (the first Retrospec Burst) for the time being. :D

The NGD Thread will have a whole bunch of pics including pics of the raw guitar prior to finishing, the top & the parts etc. For those that are interested to know, the color is Brockburst but on some monitors it will not show up right. It is best viewed on an Apple Screen for a whole bunch of reasons.

When it arrives I'll get a bunch of pics done inside & outside in the Sun as well as trying some arty stuff in a few old Art Deco buildings in Melbourne. I'll also get a few professional photos done by two Photographers I know.

Enjoy.

It's so cool to see the sunburst version, I designed the guitar in black and it never crossed my mind to use any other colors but this one really blew my mind when I saw it.

You're a lucky man Rudi. Well, I can't complain either:)

Magnus, the Retrospec looks awesome in black - I'm a Custom guy, so the first time I saw it, I thought "Wow, what a COOL guitar !" Perfect finish for such a great design.
But when I saw the burst, man, I fell in love ! And now I want one ! But I can't decide between a black one or a burst... Why are you torturing me ?! :laugh2:
Anyway, as soon as I'm done with some current projects, I really need to get my hands on a Retrospec...
You guys did an AMAZING job on this guitar, congrats !

Haha, well thanks!! We have actually talked about some more custom colors such as GT and all cherry red, I'm sure that would look really cool. Actually, I had decided to go for all cherry but changed my mind in the very end. The black is so much rock!! But the sunburst is so pretty and how about a GT and on and on....

Decisions!!!:)

Thanks again Magnus. Looks great in a Tuxedo but the Burst is also really cool IMHO. I think this shape lends itself to a lot of classic colors used on guitars through the '50's & '60's, even the Fender solid colors that were based on the cars of the time. :)

Beautiful, Rudi !

Many thanks Oli. :thumb: Tom has been on my case to get Facebook & he did say he posted the pics so I'll check them out later on my Son's or Daughter's Facebook page. :)

I am really looking forward to going crazy with the camera on this one.

Thanks Mat. Appreciate the comments :thumb: :)

I'll make sure the Thread & pics are worth looking at with lots of details.

They certainly did Oli. I really like this guitar & the fact that it has a little of the old world about it as well as being new & innovative............a hard thing to do with a guitar. There are only so many shapes that can be done that make sense. Fortunately Magnus is an Industrial Designer so his experience is invaluable in this development process, along with Kim & Tom's expertise.

Frankly, if this is as good as I think it will be & Tom has indicated, I can see a few more on the horizon..........:hmm:..........a Black Custom Wraptail with a P90 & an Alnico V...........a GT with P90's............a Wraptail with Humbuckers............there is a lot of scope here when you look at the pickups & the bridge setups, especially when the designs can be fine tuned to remove any issues associated with the originals (e.g. intonation issues with a Wraptail).

Haha, well thanks!! We have actually talked about some more custom colors such as GT and all cherry red, I'm sure that would look really cool...............Magnus the Black suits the Hiwatt you are using. :dude: :D

Agree, will be great to see what comes out over the next 1 - 2 years. :)

Thanks again guys. Spread the word.

Cheers, Rudi

You're not the only one looking forward to that thread, I can't wait to hear what you think about the guitar:)

I just recently had the chance to compare my guitar to a couple of 50's LP Custom and you know that old finish from the 50's, Tom have really nailed it to 100%. If the lightning is right you can see some grain, just a little but it's there, exact as the old Customs and the finish have....I don't know the right word for it, but it's not an even black color, it almost looks oxidized. It's just amazing and the more I see of it the more impressed I am.

Hi Rudi,
I'm using a late 70's Hiwatt DR 103 signed by Harry Joyce and the cabinet is a 4x12" Audio Brothers Hiwatt. The amp still have all the original Mullards tubes and is completely untouched, it's just a amazing piece of work.

But how about your guitar, is it on its way? I can't wait to hear your thoughts about it.

Cool. Thanks Magnus. :thumb: :)

I have always wanted to own a Hiwatt, even though I play Bogner Custom Shops........................probably due to David Gilmour using them.

As I understand it they have a great clean sound & work really well with a pedal (not that I really use pedals). Apparently the quality of the early Hiwatts were outstanding.

I might look around for an early '70's DR 103 in the UK & bring it to Australia.

Cheers, Rudi
