I got this two or three weeks ago - thanks to Paruwi for confirming its legitimacy! I only paid £130 for it which, to my mind is an absolute bargain.
2000, Korean made, really lovely top.
I had a similar Chinese one of these with a darker top and sold it not long after buying it. This one I doubt I'll part with. They really knew how to make a Les Paul in Korea eh? It's probably close to the 1996 Black Beauty I have from the same country.
The one thing that seems odd to me is the Les Paul signature. It's really hard to see. I couldn't care less, but I wonder how it could have happened. Vigorous polishing wouldn't do this, so what's the deal? I searched Google and stuff and can't find anything about it happening on anyone else's guitar. You can see it clearly in the pic here, but in real life, it's really, really dull to the point you really can't see it unless you're looking for it, or, as here, the light's bringing it out.

Enough of my waffle, here it is. I just spent a nice half hour learning the solo to "Mr Tinkertrain" on it. The pickups are now cream DiMarzio Super D/PAF, although I'm using bobbin toppers to make them zebra. They really bring out the colour of the top and the plastics, it looks amazing. These are older pics obviously :

Looks nice, the signature could very well be due to age/cleaning/etc. Not a big deal like you said. I've had two MIK Epiphones, a Casino that was awesome (should've kept it) and a cool looking MIK Randy Rhodes like LP. Looked nice, but wasn't that great of a player really. I've felt like all of my MIC (maybe 5-6) LP's were better made. You just never know sometimes.

It probably faded from folks putting it out in the sun to take photos ;) j/k, of course ... What finish is that??? Am not usually a fan of the redder bursts, but looks right nice :)

Nice bargain :)
The Les Paul logo on my 1998 MIK is rather dark too. From the pictures it seems like there is some wear on yours though.
Anyway nice guitar! Enjoy and happy NGD :)

Hey, that's very close to my 2000 MIK! Same PUP setup, mine's 50's wired.
Wonderful player after a little fret work.
Hope yours plays and sounds as good as mine does!

Cheers guys! I have no idea what the finish is. It's almost cherry but not quite. Walt, you got any idea what the colour is?

No, don't know what they called it. I do love it though.
