NGD 60's Standard Lemonburst - SW AAA

Looks AAA to me, if not, that's the best looking AA I've ever seen. Anything short of AAA starts with Gibson. The run was ordered with AAA tops and it was up to Gibson to provide their version of AAA. Sweetwater didn't rate them AAA but they certainly could have (based on some others of these I've seen), rejected some of them or sold them at a discount, but these were a hot item and blew out of unventory every time they listed them. Hard to blame Sweetwater when people bought them anyway.

That's why I put "SW AAA". It's what Sweetwater advertises as a AAA top. But we all know it's more like a AA. But this is how it's labeled.

Yep, yours is definitely a AAA top, but some of those on SW are not even a AA, more like a natural burst finish and such. I am very glad you got a really nice one and hope you enjoy her for a long time.

kinda new to US Les Pauls still so pardon my ignorance, but explain Costa Rican cases vs. Chinese?

Here is a reply I wrote a few weeks ago:

"The TKL case is shoddy. This Canadian supplier should be embarrassed. My 2019 came in this case and I couldn't get rid of it fast enough. It is poorly constructed and very sloppy in its assembly on all fronts. Latches are dull and work hard to even work as they should. TKL went way to far cutting corners - very surprised Gibson would approve of this case.

The China case is much better than TKL. The inside of the case offers more padding & is much softer also. The handle and latch hardware are much much better than the TKL. The China case weighs slightly more than the TKL but not by much. The hardware is polished and well done.

The Costa Rica case is by miles the superior hard case. The hardware is very robust and closes with smooth authority. The case easily weighs twice the TKL. The handle is large, much better made, and feels outstanding. The case is also larger in length than the China case. This is the case to have.

Very nice and yeah, it is an AAA Top. Sweetwater (and Wildwood) really had some incredible guitars this year. Love those Lemon Bursts!

Man…I was never a huge fan of lemon bursts…but this really changing my mind. It’s gorgeous. Making me wish I went for one of the AAA instead of AA haha. Congrats and enjoy!
