Well this guy arrived last week! Purchased from a senior player in Minnesota.

A 2016 Memphis '58 reissue VOS.

When it arrived it was set up with 11's, so I like always I cleaned and oiled the fret board, added a little relief to the neck, strung it up with some Gibson Vintage reissue Nickel 10's, and lowered the MHS II pups down into their sweet spot, and man this thing just sings! Some of the best sounding humbuckers I've ever had! Smooth and airy down low, and bark sweet and warmly when pushed with a nice top end. The neck reads 7.49, and the bridge is 7.96.

Like big necks? This thing has a neck now! Nice and chunky but a good round 'C' shape that's really nice to play! No big shoulders which is very nice! It's close to a 50's vintage shape, but is about .050 thicker at the 3rd fret, and .020 thicker at the 12th. That depth helps reduce my hand fatigue when playing lots of barr chords. Best of all..... No Neck Binding! I just love the look of that dark stained neck meeting a dark rosewood board!

She weighs in at 8.25 Lbs, and is very very balanced. The folks at Memphis did an excellent job on this one!!

This is a good one! Even got the rounded Mickey Mouse ears right!

Alright, here's the pics!

They even come with the old style 50's plastic strap buttons.

Which will come off and go in the case as soon as my nickel replacements arrive.

These look nice, but don't have the clearance to provide as secure a strap fit as do the deeper metal versions.
Especially if you use strap lock washers.

How's the honeymoon going? :hmm:

Man, I just can't put it down!

I don't know what the fine folks at Memphis did when winding these Humbuckers, but they got it right to my ears!

And just for the record, I much prefer my P-90's over Humbuckers, but these have a sound I can shape with my fingers that is so pleasing!

The honeymoon is still blowing me away! :thumb:

They got this one right for sure!!

That is great!

There is definitely something about a 335.

I've been playing my '59 RI quite a bit this week. :jam:

Enabler m-dub says, you will not have any regrets.

The standard issue, non-reissue model is pretty damn good, too. The '59 was just too good of a deal to refuse when CME did their thing.
