My new Original Series LP Special in vintage cherry arrived today
I had been wanting one of these Specials ever since they came out. My very first electric was one of those 2000 double cut lite junior specials with the mini trapezoid inlays, P100s and nashville bridge and stop bar, so Specials always held a special place in my heart lol.
Plenty of opportunities to grab one of these new ones, but I wanted to wait for the right one...or should I say that "Special Special."
Well I was doing my usual perusing through my common online stores the other day, and bam, saw this one jump out of the page at me and yell "I'm special, darn it!" So I immediately pulled the trigger.
The figured two piece bookmatched mahogany body certainly is special. It plays and sounds great. It weighs in at 8.2 pounds, a little on the heavier side for these Specials. It has a light colored fretboard, doesn't bother me one bit.
Something special about playing these wraptail guitars.
Pics don't do it justice.
