I've been working through an enormous pile of guitars that the boss bought in from China - not bad wood-wise, but every single one needs a fret level, the bridge saddle shaved, nut slots filed and a restring. Ouch.
As a company man I agreed to tackle this mammoth task on my own time in return for store credit. They are trying to keep costs down, and hey, I like guitars so I figured something would come up!
And what do you know, yesterday something did...

She is a 2013 R9 in Washed Cherry, VOS. Nice weight (mid 8 pound mark at a guess), cool top (some cool flame and grain, and a few mineral streaks to be found as well), smallish neck shape... but most importantly, she sounds AMAZING. I've heard quite a few Historics over the last few years, but this one... she has a whole lot of special going on. :)

Now, a few pics. These were done using my phone so not great quality. You get the idea though. Might post some more tomorrow if I get a chance to take some outside!

Enjoy!

Haha
To be honest, most days I can't believe they pay me to do what I do! Hanging out with fine folks and fixing their fiddles? Happy times.

When I was in my late teens I remember my father saying I should find something I love to do, something that I would do for nothing, then find someone silly enough to pay me for doing it. He said I'd make a living never having to work a day in my life.
It was EXCELLENT advice. :)
