mfolet, I heard that "The maple top curve will be different". Looking at your pictures (100 times today only ) I can imagine it is so. What are your thoughts on this?

It appears so.It is carved liked Sandy (CC#4) those two side by side the carve looks the same.
The horn is slightly deeper too and they changed the headstock shape also.I'm going to spend more time with her today and I'll report what I find.
It's a great player thats for sure.If I could only have one guitar this one my be the one.

I was wondering if the great tops of 2012 will continue in 2013 and so far so good from what I've seen.Somebody got a killer washed cherry yesterday,I hope to see a NGD for that one.

I went back and fourth between the two and had a real hard time deciding which one.I was seriously thinking on getting both hahaha.
You are going to flip when you get that guitar in your hands.It plays like a dream too. Perfect!!!!

I did the compairison with a Sandy so maybe they changed the headstock on those as well.
I know they have been tweeking things all year on the 2012s.

Yep Mike,it is different and is closer to the originals.Just checked an early 2012.The late 2012 R8 and Sandy headstocks are the same.

Just did some ohm readings on the 2013 R9 and Sandy Custombuckers.

Interesting that on both, the neck pickup had a higher reading.

R9 was 7.79 ohm bridge and 7.93 ohm neck.Sandy was 7.74 ohm bridge and 7.93 ohm neck.
