Picked up this little number on a whim yesterday. Big fat neck, nice and heavy, almost zero fretwear. Might take a little time getting used to playing her standing up since I've only been playing an SG recently. Sounds great through my Marshall SL5. I'm guessing this thing has 57 classics in it? Is that what came in the 2012 Traditionals?

HNGD!!! That's awesome!!! Ebony LPs are one of my favorites.
My Honeyburst 2012 Traditional came with the 57/57+ set, I'm sure if yours is stock that is what you have.
I think 2012 was the last year for for ebony to be available on the Traditional. I do have an ebony but its a 2011 Trad pro which has the 60's neck. One of these days if I run across a deal like this I'm gonna grab it. I really have started to favor the 50's neck on my 2012 Trad over the 2011 Trad pro.

Thanks! I really dig ebony finishes on guitars. Even though they show fingerprints and dust and such, there's something beautiful about a simple dark finish. I have a black strat that I'm also quite fond of.

Congrats on your NGD! Nothing like basic black. Like you say, they're harder to keep clean, but look awesome when you do. Enjoy.

Happy NGD! Very classy looking Trad. I don't know why Gibson stoppped offering a black Trad. I have a 2012 Trad in Ice Tea and I just love the the nice 50's neck on it as well. Mine weighs in at 9.7 lbs. It's my avatar.

I had no idea they stopped offering trads in that ebony. When did they do that?

Very nice traditional! (I have an ebony also from 2012:D) I got mine during a blowout sale in 2012 from Sam Ash-got an incredible deal. Couldn't be much happier with it, I keep thinking I'll change the pickups but darned if it don't sound great every time I play it.

Should be a '57 Classic in the neck and a '57 Classic+ in the Bridge. :thumb:

2012 was the last year. It was also the last year for Iced Tea until they brought it back in 2016.
