That's right... I made up "J7" just now and I'm going to try and make it a thing. :p

I got this 2003 '57 Reissue Les Paul Junior last week from Bernunzio Uptown Music in NY.

I used to have a TV White non-reverse Firebird and really loved that finish, so I've been sort of on the lookout for one of these for the last few months.

This one falls within the Brazilian Rosewood serial number range and I believe that range is supposed to include 40-50 Juniors, so this very well could be Braz, but I can't prove it. It's a great looking fretboard even if it's not.

Per usual, I swapped out some parts to give it the look that I prefer, but not too much. I put a set of vintage tuners on there just because I don't like the look of the stock ones and also some Montreux Time Machine knobs that I actually had lying around from when I had a '59 Reissue Flying V (V9? :laugh2: ). The buttons on these tuners are a little haggard, so I also ordered a set of (IMO) the only authentic-looking repro buttons that, to my knowledge, happen to only be available from Bernunzio as well. In the event that these mummy toes finally give out at some point, I'll be ready. :)

Other than just aesthetics, I did swap out the stock harness for a @jonesy one and that made a big difference in the functionality of the pots. It sounds killer like a good Junior should now.

Here are some pics that I took yesterday. Believe it or not, they are color photos. :)

To me the only way to go on juniors is a TV finish. Been wanting a yellow reissue for a bit myself

I saw two other references, but hadn't seen that one. Thanks, Rudi!

I always took this to mean that JRs and BBs were excluded from Braz?

The cut & paste below the link states 23 Juniors in this range so I think it relates to 23 Juniors in this Serial No. range have BRW Boards.

David can you please post a pic of the Board for us.

Cheers, Rudi

I just had a quick look at David's photos & from what I can see, it certainly doesn't look like it isn't BRW.

Clearer photos will answer the question I would think.

At any rate, killer Junior IMHO......................just needs a MojoAxe TP. ;)

That is how I read it. 23 guitars within that serial number range are Juniors and would have Braz.

The Customs mentioned obviously would not have rosewood boards.

Here's a cell phone shot I took when I was changing the strings. I left this one full resolution if you want a closer look...
