I was shopping around at a second hand store for a cheap telecaster, and noticed a nice flame top poking out a corner in the the rack. After checking it out i found that the shop had marked and priced it as a regular LP classic. Pulled the back plate, original unmodified wiring with Gibson pots. No pickguard and no pickguard screw holes. So I pulled the pickups and LPCP was penciled in there. Came with original case, Gibson inspection card, truss rod wrench, and pickguard w/ hardware.

Nice ! I've never seen that type of pencil writing on bare wood before. :hmm:

Congrats!

Nice flame and very nice colour.

My '96 classic also has LPCP handwritten (Les Paul Classic Plus).

Very nice score. On the hunt for an older classic. The store let you pull the pickups?
