Hi guys,

A few of you might remember my post about buying a guitar via Japan using From Japan proxy with no case. Well I had a package arrive today and have some pics to share!

Good news is that it was packed extremely well. Lots of airbag protection, box arrived in perfect condition and I was very relieved once I unpacked everything. No broken/cracked neck and overall in very good condition. I finally have my dream guitar. I've always wanted a black LPC ever since I started playing 20yrs ago.

Did a full setup, action, intonation, neck relief, polished the frets and gave the whole guitar a clean up. Has a medium neck? fatter than my 61 reissue SG but not huge either. Appears to be all stock pickups and wiring but the tone pots are disconnected? Pretty sure from the specs/serial# its a 1989 EGC-600 but happy to be advised by the MIJ LP gurus.

Anyways it plays amazingly and overall very happy with the service and delivery via From Japan and DHL.

Cheers

Niiiice, that is looking pretty clean too. The fretboard looks chocolatey dark just like my '87.

It's interesting that the necks vary quite a bit over the years. Mine feels tiny but really nice and easy to play.

I smile every time I plug mine in, it sits proudly beside my Gibson's.

Looks like stock Screamin pickups, how do you find them? I love them and find them super versatile.

Happy NJGD!

Thanks mate, I'm definitely in the honeymoon period but very happy. It is very clean overall with only a few small chips on the top of the headstock. The strap buttons need repaired as they've stripped but otherwise it's nicely aged for a 30+ year old guitar.

I'm very happy with this, my LTD Eclipse 1000 and my Gibson 61RI SG.

The stock pickups sound great. Hot enough to cover a lot of ground and still clean up really nicely.

Thanks guys
