Found this 2005 LP Special yesterday in excellent condition at a local shop and had to have it, so it followed me home.

1960 LP Special Single Cut VOS
50’s rounded neck profile
1st Fret Thickness: 0.925”
12th Fret Thickness: 1.000”

I prefer fat rounded necks and already knew about the specs on these LP Specials. But I find it interesting that they marketed these as 1960 reissues when they have a 50's neck profile and the originals were discontinued and redesigned as a double cut in 1958.

Very nice, congrats!

My 2011 60 Special also has a crazy fat neck.

I never understood why they called these 1960 Specials....but looks great anyway. Enjoy!

Very nice guitar! I have a 2008 R0 Special in cherry with a large neck like yours. Mine has pretty decent shoulders, which is not a problem, just a feature. Despite owning an R9, an R5 HotMod/refin, and an R4 (with factory humbuckers), I find myself grabbing this guitar first. It makes me wish the R4 (my avatar) had p90s because they have that sound we all want from humbuckers, but they can hum. Lollar makes a RWRP bridge, which makes the guitar silent when the two pickups are blended equally.

Anyway, the R0 Les Paul Special has my vote for desert island guitar. Play it and enjoy it!

Will be seeing this in one of your videos? :fingersx:

I have the same guitar in red, an '06, it's one I'll never sell.
