Well many of you saw my ES-330 thread. Really an excellent guitar but to land a white whale one musy use premium as bait.

Today I got guitar that I have chased almost my entire life. I picked it up and took one strum. It was over. After a 2 hr drive and staring at it since 4 am and a morning full of back and forth messages about the deal I felt like a rock god. I havent stopped smiling and Im on Cloud 9.

Here it is MY white witch, my 2006 Les Paul/SG Custom

It was the hardest thing to find... I was 14 or so and saw Tony Iommi playing one... That was it...It took like 25 years, but I have one. lol

They don't exactly grow on trees..

Exactly!! Saw Iommi and it was a wrap, it became the pinnicle. Youre right though. Ive had an R8, R9, a Murphy SG, numerous 70s Gibsons...pretty high end stuff. Ive traveled all over, been in some of the best guitar stores in the US. I average 4-5 store visits a month AND I live just outside of Nashville and this is the first time in 38 years Ive ever had my hands on one or an opportunity to purchase one. I think that speaks to the fact that while not even the rarest guitar Ive ever had by several thousand production numbers its oddly elusive. Its strange. Those who have them dont let go of them lightly.

I knew it was special when I posted it on instagram and organically got some love on it from one of my tattoo idols Forrest Cavacco who claimed my guitar to be an epic axe I realized that my guitar is 100x cooler than me. Im ok with that. Theres just something about holding it, it weilds like a weapon. It feels bad ass. I dont get overly thrilled by much but buying this broke me. Im saturated in thrill and cant contain it

HNGD!

I've always wanted one, but with two pickups. It seems impossible to find one with two pickups that doesn't have the wiggly stick for a tailpiece in that lovely creme colour. They've made black ones recently...but it isn't the same.

Congrats!

Happy NGD! It's a beautiful guitar. I'm partial to les pauls now but the first guitar I wanted was exactly one of those! Definitely would like to have one in the future... Enjoy it :jam:

That's a ripper mate, enjoy! I've got an 01 with a trem. They certainly are rarer than you would expect for a non-limited production guitar. It took me years to find one in Australia that wasn't trashed. Mine is SUPER heavy - heavier than my LP. How about yours?

Oh this is LIGHT and insanely well balanced. It feels like youd want a large finesse weapon to feel. Youd almost want to use it as an axe! Mine is light and oddly very very sturdy for the way the neck and joint are set on these. I love it. You can easily understand the price tag and the rarity when you hold one. Its not wasted money. It takes to task every SG Ive ever owned , theres no compare.

I had an SG from your era, custom shop 62. It was heavy but the single piece of lumber was superb and I have to say it had the absolute best beveled edges i hve ever witnessed on an SG. They were SHARP!! Id love to see yours. Heres the one I had,

Nice man! That 62 is delicious. SGs are the best eh? The bevels are perfect on my old banger.
