This popped in the FB marketplace locally Monday. I was at work and came across this while thumbing through the barrage of Squier Strats, Keith Urban guitars and Esteban amps, and Fender Hot Rod Devilles. The guy bought it from CME back in 2016 and they told him it was all original except for the pickup wire lead. Frets have some wear but still plays in tune when you fret chords in the ACDC chord area.

It hasn’t suffered a headstock or neck break and is checked from head to toe nearly. Only real spot that doesn’t have it is the back of the neck where your hand would keep it smooth from play.. pickguard has some warping.. pickup is clear, loud, and not microphonic what so ever...volume pot is a little scratchy but it’s no biggie.. the Les Paul Junior logo is still very visible still... I ordered an aged repop lightning bar from MojoAxe and when I restrung it I wrapped it around. Stability isn’t great with the wiggle stick lol. It’s a very solid player.. new frets, nut, and a wraparound bridge ya can intonate would make this a very killer guitar..

I didn’t really check the market on these being I never intended to seek one out.. I think I made a decent deal on it. I would say it’s mostly original since one of the dog ear screws doesn’t match the other.. over all it’s a great survivor.

Now for the porn!!

I never previously noticed that these had a 'Les Paul Junior' decal on them. Nice.

This should fit a recent USA case? It came with a Musicians Gear special. They don’t fit all that great.. they don’t fit snug inside like the cases Gibson uses. I bought one before in the past to ship a guitar that originally only had a bag. I had to add packing to the inside so the guitar didn’t rattle around in it..

I just wonder about the trem fitting under the lid when closed..

I bought an SKB for mine and it didn't fit great either. It's a little finicky, just got to look around or make your own foam inserts.

Yup, once you get a bridge compensated for the plain G you’ll likely not miss the ability to intimate every saddle.

I’ve run the gamut with wraparounds and a well setup lighting bar is a joy.

Nice! I had a '65 in similar shape and it was so cool. FYI, that bridge is compensated for a wound G and is impossible to intonate with modern strings. @Danelectro at Mojoaxe sells a perfect replacement.

Killer axe, congrats!
already have one in the way:applause: ordered it this morning.

besides this one needs to be retired to the storage compartment..

You should be good with either a regular Gibson USA SG case or one of the more recent SG Jr cases.

As long as you swing the vibrola bar back towards the strap pin. It'll clear without issue in either case (no pun intended)

I don’t like it! I don’t like the color, I don’t like the checking and don’t like the vibrato. Oh and I especially don’t like how it still has the junior designation. However I’d be anxious to see more pics. Perhaps a cavity shot. I’m guessing I won’t like that either but try me.

I believe ‘63 was the last year they did this..
That's correct. Somewhere after mid 1963 the Les Paul Junior was no more... Only the gold Gibson logo remained after that time.

There's a thread here somewhere that talks about this. I think serial number 129xxx is the latest 63 "Les Paul Junior" headstock silk screen I've seen...
