I used to have the same video game dilemma. Now I have a 9 month old baby who never naps so I get maybe 1 hour a month of video game time and my wife gives me the stink eye the whole time

I remember those days. Does the baby sleep well at night? That was our only saving grace. Wouldn’t nap for more than 10 mins lol!

Sleeps 11-12 hours straight every night. Almost never wakes up in the middle of the night. But that kid does not like to take naps!

My kids love fortnite on our ps4.
I prefer a mouse + keyboard for shooters.

I tried man, I trriiiiiieeeedd.

Couldn't get into Fortnight. I'm shooting at someone and they magically build a brick wall? Build a staircase and run away? What the shit? :laugh2: .

It’s frustrating as HELL at first.. I didn’t get good until I learned how to build fast.. but it does get REALLY fun the more you play. I really want to try PUBG soon too.

I recently got Fortnite for Android. Coming from PUBG, Fortnite is a pile of shit. Not only did it take me about half an hour to download and start it up but then the actual gameplay is terrible. Back to Pubg for me.

I used to be into games a lot, but pretty much gave it all up when I met my ex-wife. Then having kids, no room for videogames. It helps to know what genres you like though. For me it was always first person shooters and racing. I won't pay full price for other genres unless they get really great reviews. I was a PC gamer though. Consoles are all about waiting years for the next thing to finally be released.

I dig em all. Ps4, Xbox One, PC, VR,...so far I've resisted the new Nintendo because I know it'll be like every other Nintendo. You play Mario then you get bored. :laugh2:

We are an Xbox house. I have had an Xbox since the first one. We got my 8 yr old one for Xmas. We also do Gold so that he can play online. I try not to buy disks anymore. Downloads are better since you don’t have to swap discs. I actually soft-modded my PS2 when Guitar Hero first came out specifically for this.

When we do install a game from disc, I turn off the internet connection. It installs so much faster that way. Almost like it downloads the entire game over the internet instead of reading it from the disc. Then when you reconnect, you only need to get the updates.

The Forza franchise is great. Horizon is cool with the Hotwheels add on, but I prefer Motorsports. Also really like Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty Advanced & Infinate Warfare and Battlefield 1.

I have a PS3, but only a few games and RockSmith.

A PS4 is on my radar but I'm not committing to anything right now. If Rockstar pulls a dirty move and announces Red Dead for the PC I'm putting that $500 into my computer instead.

Why would that be a dirty move?
Isn’t the choice of playing it on any platform a good thing?

It takes me so long to get thru a game that there is usually a good backlog of games, now available used to choose from. So I almost never buy new anymore. But one of the nice things about buying new is that you can hangout on one of the gaming sites and experience the communal aspect of playing thru a new game. When you play used games and go online no one else is playing that game.

That being said I will prolly buy Valkyrie Chronicles 4 new in about a month lol.

yeah I can't get into a shooter that has magical construction gimmicks. :laugh2:

Part of me made myself get good at it so I could show these snarky, pre-pubescent bastards that I could smoke their little asses..

Because I’m from the old school gamin’ days, the Atari days, the duck hunt days, the Doom and Heritic days, the all or nothin’ days..

That, and I’m a kind of a huge f*ckin’ nerd.

It's a dirty move to delay the announcement of a PC version until after the game is out, since as a console exclusive it has great potential to motivate non-console owners (like me) to shell out for a system to play it on. Last thing I want is to buy a PS4, buy the game and then have it get announced for the PC.

Understood.
I never thought of it like that before as I’m pretty much a strictly console gamer.

Yeah it's like a game of chicken. I mean I could always sell the console and the game if it was announced, but that's a hassle. It's not really an issue coming from the other way, PC exclusives mostly stay as such.

I bought Escape From Tarkov on pc.
It doesn't have controller support.
Really not liking having to sit over the desk using keyboard/mouse to play a shooter. Cool game but hating not having a controller.
