I have a PS4 Pro. There are a lot of great looking games coming out in the future, and like most, I don't want to pay $80+ each, so I was just curious how you all buy?
The last game I bought at full price, pre-ordered, was the newest God of War. $80, fun game, it was good, but overall it wasn't as good I was expecting and was disappointed by it.
I don't think I'll pre-order or buy at full price again. What I might do is just wait until the games I want are on sale or reduced to $40 but for the Game of the Year edition, so half price for each game but with all the added content. Might take over a year after release to get there but $40 max, GOTY editions only.
Bloodborne 2, Nioh 2, Red Dead, next GTA, Sekiro, another ninja game (can't remember the name), Spiderman, that's $560 (if my math is right) just for these not including other must-haves not out yet.
Sales tax in Ontario is 13%. I've found that digital downloads through the PS store are tax free. I only buy games through the PS store for this reason. Granted, you don't get to ever trade games in but I keep them, plus by the time I do trade them in, all I get is $0 - $3 from the store, plus I like not having to switch discs all the time.
One idea that came to mind, which I haven't done yet, is just watch a game fully played through on YouTube. Enough guys put up excellent walkthroughs, not to mention they play the game much better than I ever could.
Just grab a cigar, sit back, and watch someone else go through a few levels.
Sorry for the long rant. Back on track. What do you do when it comes to the new games you want?
