I found this at Cream City Music. It's my first ever Double Cut Lester (after 40 years of playing).

I digs TV Yellow (I have a TV Yellow humbucker Special) and I like P90's so this was love at first sight. No robo-tuners!

I'm loving the Lightening Bridge and I already ordered an AllParts Lightening Bridge ($27 cheap) to try on a 2007 Melody Maker.

This is it's yellow soul mate.....

It's nice to play a wrap around tail piece and not worry about intonation. I have to be careful with my SG Jr but the double cut stays in tune very well. Glad I found it.

Very nice. Dig the Greta too. Have you done the speaker upgrade yet? I did mine and turned it into a incredible amp

Very nice! Those '15 Juniors and Specials are soooooo damn tempting. I also very much like that newer body style for the DC Specials, although that took some time for me to come around to, the traditionalist that I am.

Great job! Congrat's to ya!

I remember reading the thread about the speaker upgrade and it was very interesting. Mine is still stock. I usually play my Greta into a 1 x 12 Lopo cab that has a Jensen MOD speaker. I'll crank the Greta into the bigger cab late at night and I love the sound. Fun stuff.

I had the same guitar. Bought it, and a junior at the same time. Loved the Jr, couldn't bond with the special at all. Even though it looked phenomenal. It sounded wimpy next to the Jr.

Make sure you swap that brass nut for the (free) titanium one. Or buy the tusq replacement for $20.

Your Special had different pups than OP’s. His has regular P90 pups. Yours had the P90s pups and I heard that yours sounded brighter than the regular P90 pups.

Yes, there is this. I noticed @studio1087 's has regular P-90 pups. Somebody went through a bit of trouble to do that, at least I had to on my '14 Melody Maker, as the P-90S (S for Slug) has a narrower depth than regular P-90's. Had to chisel out 1/4" of the bottom of the cavity to get the bridge pup in.
That said, I LOVED the P-90 Slug pup's tone, but just couldn't get past the brightness of it. I left the neck pup in, and I took the Slug/bridge from the MM and put it in the neck position on my Junior Special. Worked out great.

That's why it has a tone control. On mine, I run the tone about 3-4 on the bridge and about 7 on the neck. It fattens them up and makes them very sweet, at least thru my amps.

How many tone knobs does yours have? OP’s has one. My preference is two tone knobs.

cool guitars, all of them. a TV Yellow double cut is on my short list of "will have" someday. I have a Special with P90's and these mahogany slabs with those pups are just monsters.
