Just picked it up a Traditional Pro with a 50's neck in Honeyburst, and I can honestly say, it is one of the most beautiful finishes I've ever seen.

I normally like complete flame top, but the grain on this brings out all of the right colors.

The thing with Honeyburst that is tough to explain is that it's a chameleon
Under the right lighting it can have the appearance of anywhere from a Bourbon Burst, to a Heritage Cherry, to a Gold Top. So, if you're ever thinking of buying one, don't base it off of an online picture, make sure you see it for yourself.

As far as the guitar itself, I'm definitely going to replace the BB3 and 57 with some Bare Knuckles. I also need to put some Hybrid 9-10 strings. Other than then, neck is super playable and chunky.

I agree, it does have a schitzo appearance depending on the light. Most pics I have seen online are way too bright yellow.
Here's a pic of mine then.

Happy New Guitar Day!

btw, I thought pro's had 60's necks? Do they also have a 50's neck version?

You're correct, all pro's have 60's, except for the one model of 50's that only comes in honeyburst. It's a limited run.

I want to but I feel like pictures really don't do it justice. They always look way more red in photo then in real sight. :/

that can be corrected after the pic is taken.
look what i did to vasco's lp. it's a lot less red now.

Now the funny thing about this is when I was looking for a new Trad, I went to GC on my lunch hour and played a Trad Plus. The next day I went back to try a Trad Pro. I thought to myself, "The necks seem about the same to me!" It was a Honeyburst Pro!

Are you gonna sell the pickups?

Yes I already have a buyer for them for them if you'd like to make an offer. I also have a 59 Seymour Duncan Bridge that was never installed if you want to buy that.

I don't really NEED those pickups, just nice to get my hands on some Gibson 4 conductors. (those 2 extra wires cost $50!) I just got a BB3 and a 57 classic of the bay, gonna put the BB3 in the neck and the 57 in the bridge, opposite of the norm, I believe. I love neck pickups, but they can't be muddy, and I think the 57 will tame the bridge down for me.

I got one of those traditional pros, and I LOVE it. my other two previous Lesters were a faded studio and classic, but me and this traditional pro have been keeping it real. I was thinking about the honeyburst, and the stock pictures look nothing like the internet pictures. You should throw some up of your guitar, might make me regret getting the cherryburst, so don't make them TOO nice. WE NEED PICTURES!

Here she is

First too I took with my webcam, the second two with my phone. Don't they look like different finishes all together?

The first one is the most accurate to its true color in normal lighting.

The second one looks all smudged but it's just the poor camera quality mixed with the grain and the lighting.

YES! That thing looks nice. I really like the unique grain. At the time of purchase of my cherryburst, I definetelly would have gotten this thing. But, now me and this cherry got this relationship going, and it's working. Congrats.
