Ok well here is how the story goes I have been lusting for a PRS nearly 20 years. From the first time I saw one on the wall at my local guitar shop I have wanted one. Always thought that they were the sexiest of all guitars ever made but always out of my budget. I have owned Gibsons, Strats, Teles etc but always lusted for a PRS double cut.

Well after going in GC "yeah I know" last week there was a 1994 McCarty in nearly mint condition. Nice flame top, moon inlays, wide neck basically all I have wanted in a great burst finish. I worked an amazing deal and traded my SG but got the guitar I have always wanted.

This thing screams, plays great, and sounds amazing! Thing probably holds tune better then any guitar I have ever played and the fact it's the first year production of what has become such a iconic guitar I feel somewhat privileged to have scored such a beauty for the price I have.

I will post pics tomorrow.:thumb:

So ... you became a PRS fan right around the same time that guitar was made. That's kinda cool. Quite a find, really.

The guitar is beautiful! The colour is tasteful, the top is great. The fingerboard is especially nice.

So nice man! Love it! Mccarty's are their best model in my opinion! They just are more alive! Some of the custom 22 and 24s I've played have been a little too dry and sterile. I also love the more reserved cool choice! Some of those PRS guitars can be too flashy! Love the rosewood on the fretboard!

Here's it's cousin my 2009 mccarty soapbar rosewood.

Congrats on a beautiful guitar. I waited a VERY long time to pick up my 1st PRS. I just could get one at the right price and find one with just the right neck. Well I bought one about a yr. ago, and it was worth waiting for. It's an '88 "Special" Goldtop. I've never seen another exactly like it. I've tried searching for another, but to no avail. It's such a great feeling when you finally find the guitar you've been waiting for.Enjoy your new guitar.:)

Of course it is. It sounds the most like a Les--warm and deep. Nice score! I love their no-nonsense necks. :)
