I was looking over some things online and came across this,
musicpromarketing Seymour Duncan New for 2014
it is a new pu called perpetual burn.
sounds very promising in that it is a JB type of pu with a heavy 59 influence.
12K,alnico 5 sounds good on paper.
Always wanted a JB with less output and a more 59 open tone.
Hopefully this will deliver?:slash:

just found this, http://www.gearhounds.com/seymour-duncan-jason-becker-perpetual-burn-pickup.aspx
apparently it sells for a little more than a standard seymour duncan, oh well if it sounds like a JB meets a 59 in still in.

Well I guess it *is* a JB, then. Jason Becker.

He always went for a thin, buzzy tone back then, so I'm not sure this will be my cup of copper, but let's see.

I think you guys will like it if you are into that moderate output EVH type tone, it has a thick and beefy rhythm tone and a crisp, clean and clear lead tone. Great harmonics and really versatile.

They *should* be available next week, stay tuned for the demo video.

How would this differ from a Custom5?
