I'm a casual consumer of popular music post 2005 and I can say, without reservation, that if she never released anything else, "Royals" would have been a worthwhile contribution. It's a perpetual earworm but based on merit alone. It's not disposably catchy but has a good structure, great lyrics, and a great musical background.All it will take is one for the album cover PR to serve its purpose.
