Man, the new Bourbon Burst and Lemon Burst look amazing. If I ever get a new guitar, those are definite contenders.

Tell me about it. I just bought a Desertburst that looks more like a caramel burst. It's beautiful, but my first choice would have been a lemonburst. So, of course, less than 5 days after I buy the Desertburst, they release a lemonburst. Typical. Now I have to buy another one.

The same thing happens to me all the time. I comfort myself by thinking that if I hadn't bought whatever item, the one I really wanted wouldn't have released for others to buy. So in the end, I'm helping everyone :laugh2:

True. Those selected retailers better be near me. I may be able to convince the wife to let me take out more in financial aid to cover a new guitar, or two since I need a goldtop, this upcoming quarter. It has been almost a decade since I got one after all. Surely some statute somewhere allows for such things :laugh2:

Epiphone is the world champion for limited editions, only available to some retailers etc...That is not a cool attitude (imho)

It really isn't. Especially since a lot of the time it seems to be oddball places instead of major cities

I'd have less problems with it if thomann actually is one of those exclusive-dealers - though he is NOT :naughty:

I was at my local Guitar Center yesterday and they had one of the Les Paul Black Back Pro in the used section for $499. Looked very nice and still had the stickers on it. Never bought anything used as far as guitar wise from GC, do you think they would come down on the price some, do they do that??

I've negotiated some great deals with GC, but only on new stuff. I have had much more trouble negotiating their used equipment. I guess the profit margins just aren't there for the used stuff.

Back to the topic, the Bourbon burst really is amazing. Always loved that color, similar to the tobacco bursts. But, where is the pick guard love?....Epiphone (and Gibson) seem to be moving away from pick guards more and more.

I've noticed the same. Some guitars can work without a pickguard, but I prefer them in general. Goldtops especially

It really is. If I wasn't so bent on a PlusTop PRO and a Goldtop PRO, that would be next on my list

EDIT: DBS and HBS are gorgeous
