What's the point in upgrading to Gotoh?

The gotoh is a bit nicer bridge, it has more travel for the saddles , for those that have intonation problems, has a little more mass, and does not use the retaining wire as on the ABR type, all in all a nicer piece ,what 20$ or so. Plus they come in nickel plated as well as chrome and gold , those that change the pickups for nickel plated get the nickel one and tail piece , so the hardware looks the same.

slam em in there lol.

jk.use a rubber mallet.
or get a piece of cloth put it on top and then put a wood block on top of that and hit it with a hammer, just watch out for the body.

heres a question for you guys...
how much should the pieces go into the body?should it be flush from the body all around or should a bit of it stick out from one side(as the body has a contour) cause i think i overdid it on some of my bushings.their flush with the body.Would this have any effect?how bout if ones slightly not the same height as the other?(SLIGHTLY)

I did not remove & replace the stock bushings...I just kept the Epi bushings in there and screwed in the Gotoh posts. I don't really see a reason to replace the bushings...not worth the effort.

I fitted the Gotoh Bridge and Tailpiece, the Bridge Bushings were fairly easy to remove. The Tailpiece Bushing however were a different story, they were glued in,but a minute or two with the Soldering Iron inside the Bushing softened the Glue, and out they popped. The Saddles were very lightly notched on mine too,but i`ve had no movement from the Strings, all i need to do now is replace those Knobs when i get back Home.If i were you Sin,i`d just slightly increase the size of the notch to counter act the fact that you`ve Top Wrapped mate.

Absolutely, I did the same thing. The studs fit exactly the same in the Epi bushings as in the Gotoh. Once you tune your instrument there should not be a problem unless you are jerking around on the bridge while playing.

+1 to what Mr Willits has said, there is a very small amount of play in the Posts that come with the Bridge, but i`ve pulled and pushed it,and it doesn`t move at all unless you really whack it one.

Hey Rich, is that the stock tailpiece or did you upgrade to the Gotoh aluminum? That bridge is looking good.

Another ?: Has anyone had any success in removing and flipping around saddles in this Gotoh bridge? I tried and had no luck getting the adjustment screws loosened enough to pull out any of the saddles.

It`s the Gotoh Tailpiece,i figured while i was replacing the Bridge,i may as well go for the Tailpiece too, infinately better quality than the stock.
