I received a brand new 2021 Les Paul Standard 50s March 1st with a few cosmetic issues. The bridge had an odd chalky stain in the low E side, and the side of the upper bought had two pretty good sized scratches.

I had asked for 10% off the guitar before I even paid for it and was granted the discount. Upon getting the guitar and noticing the blemishes I was awarded another 10% discount. I ended up paying $2200 for this beautiful Les Paul as I purchased it just before the price increase.

I haven't yet even buffed out the blemishes but I know they will be virtually invisible once I do.

This Les Paul is an 11lb girl and a few blems were never going to cause a return. Everyone is different tho and has different reasons for returns. In my case no way.

A $10 tube of Scratch X, a small micro-fiber polishing cloth, a little "elbow grease" and those nicks will disappear. It's literally magic on Nitro. Just use a small dab and work slowly: Scratch X Just remember to shake the tube before you apply it.

I haven't had any finish issues with the Gibsons I bought new, but I have a used ebony ES-235 with what looks like a finger print in the finish near a f-hole and some chatter along the edge of the finger board.
I might fix it some day, but likely not.
