Just got a brand new 2022 Les Paul Classic and while setting it up I noticed strange marking in the truss rod route. None of my other Gibbys have this. Any ideas what it says or means?
It’s a heavy one, almost like they forgot to weight relieve the thing. 9.98lbs, yikes!! Good thing I’m not a stage player.
Here’s a couple of pics.
So far so good, sounds great and plays great. Not a single flaw that I can find at all, not even the slightest finish issue or fret issue. This is as perfect as a guitar can get.

1. Congrats on an absolute beauty! That looks amazing with the covered pups - are they just covers or new pickups?
2. My '22 is about 9.8lb. I think most of them are in that ballpark
3. There's nothing like that in my truss rod cavity. I'm thinking yours has some sort of witchcraft marking :p

That's one of the finest LPs I've ever seen and I'm not ashamed to say I hope we never meet, because I'd be tempted to just take it and run away, which I know would end very poorly for me and I still wouldn't be able to stop myself from trying.

No idea about the marking though, but I'm sure it's evil stuff, which makes it more gooder.

Yes, just nickel covers from a guitar website here in Canuckistan.
Thanks for the compliments!
Cheers!

Dude, you have no idea. Hahaha.
I’m in a wheelchair as I had my right leg amputated above the knee from a work accident.
You’d clearly get away!!!

That sucks, but don't play yourself down.
You'd be up against someone who constantly smacks himself on every doorframe ever.
And I don't mean brush against, I mean arm, shoulder, sometimes a brush against the side of the head.
So trust me, unless it's very wide, open space, you'll catch up in no time.

Beautiful guitar! The marking looks like a reference to the truss rod adjustment to me. I see an arrow on the left, pointing toward the truss rod -- and a reference to the position (circle on the right). Also looks like there's a score (or some kind of mark) into the truss rod nut (on the right side, as the photo is oriented).
Of course, it could also be a druid protection spell as Peter M mentioned :)

I remember reading on another LP forum that the worker that built the neck initialed inside the truss rod cavity. I imagine those workers can get creative with their signatures.

But this one says, "Garnok The Fierce."

Next thing you know he'll be showing up on Glassdoor.

It's probably The Hump.

"What hump?"
