Celestion has just announced their new G12H-75 Creamback at NAMM.

Celestion Introduces the G12H-75 Creamback Guitar Speaker - Premier Guitar

I guessing we won't see the G12H-75 in shops for a while, based on the production delay happening on the G12M-65.

Anyone have a chance to see/play through either of these Creambacks? So far the G12M-65 has been getting very solid reviews overall.

I switched over to Warehouse Speakers a few years ago. Their ET-65 is killer speaker...have one in my Fender Pro Tube Pro Reverb. $69.00 plus shipping.
That new Celestion is $160 on Sweetwater's site :wow: Bet it's made in China to boot...

Give one of these a shot, bet you like it a lot...gets great reviews

Yeah I think the wgs et-65 is more directly comparable to the Celestion g12-65.

The creamback is supposed to be a higher wattage greenback, probably more comparable to their high powered green beret, or the scumback m75.

Reports are that the Creamback is made in the U.K. That was from the Celestion rep that posts on TGP.

no opinions on these?

...hmm

I had a watch of this and was pretty impressed with the cream backs in comparison to the Scumback M75s. The celestions seem to lack the upper mid clarity of the M75s but low end and overall bite sound really nice. Classy amp guitar and player so I suppose it helps!

12" ET65 - 65 Watts | Warehouse Guitar Speakers

Which of their line compares to the V30?

That'd be the retro 30 or the veteran 30

The Vet 30 is basically a vintage 30 thats had some age to it and isn't as intense sounding as the real V30 IIRC

+1 on WGS. I have an ET-65 and a Vet 30 in a 1936 style 2x12,from Sourmash and both of those speakers are fantastic.

I am gassing for a Creamback loaded 1x12 for my lower watt head....so watching here for more feedback.

Love the idea of a higher watt Greenback with more lows and real sweet highs....zero ice pick or harshness is the goal for me...

Based on that clip I prefer the creambacks totally. I'm anxious to hear how the G12H creamback will sound in comparison. A 2x12 mix of these might be really sweet.

I've been using a pair of Creambacks with my 50W Carol Ann Triptik for about two or three months now, and they're just what you're describing. I love them! I tried a boatload of speakers, too, but the search ended once I heard the Creambacks.

I just bought a HRDlx cabinet and swapped the speaker out for a creamback. Its now had a week or so of side by side playing with a Heritage 65 in another cab, through a Ceriatone Prinzetone.

I quite like the fat mids I get with this speaker, without it being overly bright. I bought it especially for this aspect, as my other speaker is almost muted in these frequencies. To get it to cut through previously the very top-end would be unbearably bright.

Looking at the frequency analysis on Celestion's website, looks the the G12M creamback and the new G12H creamback will play nice together. Also thinking a V30 with the G12H-75 Creamback would be THE SH**!

I find, in person, the Creambacks sound better. No lack of clarity anywhere. I love them!

Yeh - after the videos and positive reviews I picked one up myself. They sound fantastic, a lovely bass response and rich/meaty mids :)

Fyi people - it is assembled in UK (says on the magnet cover), however I think the parts are from somewhere else.

Tayden make a good speaker in the UK,they have a range of speakers broadly comparable to Celestion`s and are priced favourably against Celestion chinese products.

I have one and on the magnet it says "Made in UK" Also says so on the box...for whatever that's worth....I put it in my Marshall DSL40c and I'm not sure I like it or not. I really think I like the stock 70/80 a little better in that amp. Original and Creamback are still new so I'm gonna break in the stocker some more and see where that takes me. Also thinking about making/buying an empty extention cabinet for the Creamback. I'm thinking both at the same time could be fun:lol:
