I decided to start a build based on a video I saw. I started a thread about the video here:

http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/luthiers-corner/337481-has-anyone-seen.html

I'm posting this build as I have some questions regarding it's design. It's going to be a semi-hollow body and I'm a bit unsure what the best design for the hollowed out part should be.

Is there a need to have the center block go all the way down to the bottom? The guitar in the video has the lower area hollowed out. I'm wondering if keeping that area solid is beneficial in any way?

I think it'll be less prone to feedback issues when the block goes all the way.

Yes, I really like the look of that guitar too! They want $2900 for it...so, I thought I'd just make one for myself. I think I'll take the basic shape from their guitar and add my own style neck and headstock.

I have some of guys from B & G on my Facebook.

This thread was actually posted on my news feed.

Apparently they're watching too!

Very nice boompiday, actually I prefer your version so far, the bound fingerboard and the switch location look better in your build. Also, I would go for the classic 2 volume 2 tone control layout.

I would keep the headstock the same though, I really like how the B&G headstock looks.

Looking forward to see this complete :)

Looks great so far. Nice sharp construction and the top is beautiful.
