New Amp Day: Dr Z Carmen Ghia 25th Anni

I just scored a Dr Z Carmen Ghia 25th Anni Limited Edition Head. Great for beginning breakup. Not high gain, but terrific for old school '70s hard rock (Trust me, Z's are not just for Country players, though it probably also does that very well).

• 20 watts/2 EL 84s
• Post Phase Inverter Master Volume (the Carmen Ghia does not have an MV)

Sounds best through my Dr Z Monza (a rock 'n' roll BEAST) with a 10" Eminence Red Fang Alnico (ain't no "boxiness to this speaker).

That's so cool that you can walk in to a store and actually try out gear. I have to order/buy blindly

Well, it was when I was down in LA, driving back from the union hall. I made an unscheduled stop. I figured “I’m taking PCH anyway.... it’s basically on the way!” It’s an old school store in a super nice part of town. Santa Monica Boulevard, blocks from the Beach.

Highly recommend. I’m sure they sell online, but there’s lots of places that do that.
