New Alter Bridge single

No doubt some of you guys will have already seen this, but for those who haven't... The new Alter Bridge single "Isolation".

I'm glad to see they haven't strayed from their original formula given the projects they've done between Blackbird and ABIII.

Good to know that the reunion of Creed didn't mean the end of Alter Bridge.
I've never liked anything by Creed and generally cannot stand them, but for some reason I really like Alter Bridge.

I want to like Alter Bridge. I just can't hear anything unique in this particular recording. It sounds very generic to me.

Mrpesca, I see what you mean. I think they craft certain songs for radio air-play. They have 2-4 songs on each album that are quite middle of the road when it comes to hard rock/metal IMO. There's just no denying Myles' vocals though. I think he has the vocal/songwriting/guitar chops to really drive the band, even on songs that may seem lackluster or generic. I think these probably give a better representation of the band, apologies if you've heard them before:

I think the Creed reunion, from the guys in AB's perspective, was done to fund this Alter Bridge record. When the guys are obviously capable of playing to this standard, I don't see how they could feel fulfilled in Creed. It had to be a financial decision for everyone involved with exception of their constipated singer.

Thanks for this Syn. First song I've heard from the 3rd one. Looking forward to it! Now I gotta check out the ABB.net boards and see what else is up. Quite a loose rhythm tone on that song, but I'm hoping it would just be a Rise Today thing with regards to the single representing the album.

One of my fav bands is this one. I just love that crazy idiotic "I-don't-wan't-anybody-playing-the-same-as-I-do" tuning that Tremonti uses. And Myles can sing. Hell he can.

Sounds really good, I love Myles singing and Mark Tremonti is amazing on guitar. I'll get the album as soon as its released. Got blackbird the other day and that sounds amazing too!

From all reports Myles plays a few more lead lines and has a more prominents guitar role on ABIII. Tremonti swears Myles is the better guitarist, and when you see him playing Ties That Bind while singing, I'd be tempted to believe him.
It's a shame Myles put his solo record on the backburner, it seems he's had a buisier year than he anticipated...

I will admit that at first listen I couldn't stand Alter Bridge, but after listening again today I must say there is something there. Will have to check out more. I honestly had no idea that Myles was anymore than a singer. Hell of a player!!

Yeah he was. Doing a great job too! He played on a couple of tracks on Slash's album too. I think Slash put down some stuff on Myles' solo album, but it looks like he's had to abandon the solo record as he'll have no time between Slash and AB tours.
