Reviving an old thread. (sorry)

Grover is finally releasing the vintage style pearl rotomatics :)

They're called Vintage Rotomatics Series 103. You have a choice of gold or chrome machine heads with the vintage looking pearl buttons.

Guitar Machine Heads & Accessories by Grover

I'm really happy about this.

Thanks for the info. Back at NAMM when I asked Grover about these they seemed clueless about what I was talking about and they have them.

Update: Grover's customer service emailed me back saying they will be released to the public in mid-October.

Time to start another Ace Frehley project! I'm planning to use a new flamey LPC :)

I have a triple pickup 74 RI cherry sunburst that can be turned into another Budokan very easily by going with cream plastics and these tuners :) I have a set of original Grovers with the Pearloid banjo buttons but might have to save those and get these new ones.

Those 74 reissues are great.

When I loaded the one I had with Super Distortions and plugged into my marshall jvm210 with the gain a little past the half way mark, it was pure bliss.

I just didn't bond with the neck but damn I haven't had a better sound since, so I'm thinking I should have learned to love the neck, instead of selling it.

Yes, those 74RI's are awesome! In addition to the triple pickup cherry sunburst I also have a 74 RI in Aspen White which is a 2 pickup model. I play the white one live. Basically these two models are the Ace Budokan and the Randy Rhoads sig models in disguise :) I did an RR makeover on the Aspen White one already.
