Three-part documentary that I just finished watching on Netflix. I remember hearing that this festival went bad, and ended in a total mess. It was worse than I remember. This documentary gives you all the ugly details. It moves along at a quick pace, and it’s pretty good, considering the subject matter.

There were actually some good performances that came out of this slop
We liked Metallica, but ya, the whole thing was a mess.
Nothing like the original.

I'm not even a big Kid Rock guy, but I remember seeing him play on it at like 2pm and was just energetic as all hell and got the crowd hyped.

I remember the Foos were supposed to play but they canceled.

i was gonna say....did they get multiple camera angles of the gang-bangs at FOH?
And the truck fires?
That was the best!

yeah whenever I hear "Woodstock 99" I dont' think good things. I think of all the awful things.

I never did Woodstock or Lollapalloza, I was an Ozz-Fest guy.

When I first heard, "Black Sabbath reunion" I jizzed my baggy oversized 90's-kid pants and slammed down money for tickets.

I used to have a double album Woodstock '94 CD. There were some pretty good performances at that one, but it largely gets forgotten because of the debacle of the '99 festival.

Until I watched this documentary, I had totally forgotten about the 94 show. They talked about how it got rained on so badly, making it a huge financial loss. Because of that, the goal was to make as much money as possible on the 99 festival, no matter what it took. The organizers were moneygrubbing assholes, and they looked the other way and pretended like they didn’t know what was happening out there.

Tony Iommi at the 2005 Ozzfest was the best sounding electric guitar I've heard in my whole life. I had my picture taken with Kerry King that day and was still long haired and wild enough looking that people were trying to buy drugs from me left and right.

It was a badass day. I wasn't wearing Jinko's though.

That was my impression of Iommi's tone at Ozzfest too. I spent all day listening to metal bands including some really cool bands like Pantera and Fear Factory (if I'm remembering correctly, I was high AF)..

then Sabbath took the stage at night and Iommi's guitar just crushed everyone. It was a huge and monstrous deep sound that almost hit you physically.
