I've got an '87 Les Paul Custom I'm looking to sell. Unfortunately, I swapped out the original pups to my '91 Studio Lite and they are just killer in that guitar. I hate to swap em back, but I know selling original stock is usually the best, although I do have an EMG 81-85 Zakk set I could stick in the Custom as that setup seems to be popular nowadays.
If I knew what model the original pups in the custom were, I'd just buy that set to stick in the Studio, but Gibson would only say "A 1987 Les Paul Custom model would have been factory equipped with Gibson Original Humbucker pickups" and included the original description, which wasn't very helpful (I attached the description).
At the present, I'm running an SD Custom in the bridge and SD '59 in the neck on the Custom. It's a great guitar (duh), just too damn heavy these days for my bad back, which is why the Lite is now my fav. So I'm kinda looking for advice on what configuration to sell the Custom in and/or if anybody has info on what model the original pups are from the Custom. I attached a pic of that, too.
