I bought a set of pickups with the pots and need some help with a wiring diagram. Pickups are brand new, are from a Les Paul With coil tap. The pots are original Gibson, on the back of the pot is a black plastic base with 2 post for the wires, problem I'm running into is I can't find any diagrams with the right pots. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you check the sticky thread in the Pickups forum?

Could you post a picture of the pots? A push/pull should have at least 3 connectors, most have 6 (2 rows of 3 which are parallel).

If you just want to wire up a simple coil split it shouldn't be too hard. Do you know which coil you want to use? Most people (and Gibson from the factory) will use the slug coil because there's a bigger tone difference, but I like using the adjustable coil better because it has a lot more tone. You can do one of each coil/polarity and get a cool series-wired-humbucker sound in the middle pickup position but you get a nice broad tone because of the distance between the active coils (especially if you turn the neck tone knob down!! :thumb:).

If you can't tell, I love different wirings and specifically push/pull pots, they can really bring out a lot of versatility in a guitar.

Here is a picture of the push/pull pots that I'm familiar with (and the only kind that I know of aside from push/push pots). If it's one of these, I can definitely help you out.

Im posting this from my iPhone and I'm having trouble posting a picture. The best way to describe the pots I have is it looks like a normal pot with 3 terminals on the side, but then on the back side of the pot is a black plastic cap with 2 terminal post on top, and one of them has a jumper wire soldiered to it and to one of the 3 side terminals.
