so like it doesnt sound as great as i wish it did and im wondering what kind of adjustments i can make to get closer to a :slash: slash :slash: tone, ive already adjusted the things on the bridge that hold the strings, and im wondering what i can do to the pickups or to the machined heads or the bolts on the neck or whatever will make it sound better and remember im looking for a slash tone. also plz tell me what types of settings he use for amp/guitar if you happen to know.

Well first how long have you been playing? Adjusting a few things on your Epi is not gonna get you to sound anything like slash unless you can play like slash, and have some of the same amps and such as Slash. If Slash were to take your Epi he would still sound like Slash

What amp are you using? I'd suggest upgrading that if you want to get Closer to his sound. If you are playing out of a crappy solid state practice amp, it won't matter if you have a 5k Gibson

Ditch those "combo speakers." They aren't helping your cause any. "Loud" doesn't equate to tone - and cheap-ass non-guitar speakers for the sake of volume isn't the method I'd use.

Pick an overdrive on your modeling amp - that will get you about as close as you'll be able to get with your gear. You could upgrade pickups if you wanted to, but you'll most likely spend as much as your guitar cost on electronics upgrades and I'd question whether or not it was "worth it." Keep playing and working on your chops. Maybe look at GFS pickups, as they won't break the bank.

What dice said. Get rid of those extra speakers, and I wouldn't worry about upgrading the pickups. I know this isn't what you want to hear but Practice, Practice, Practice!!! I'm guessing from the way you type that you are in your teens ( am I right?). I've been playing for 10 years and yesterday I played a $100 Squier Bullet through a Fender Super Sonic and it sounded like a heaven. Skill+Mediocre guitar+Great amp will take you a lot further than lack of skill+Expensive pickups in mediocre guitar+ lackluster amp.

While you're practicing save your clams for a better amp

yes i am 14 and it is my first electric and i know i should practice, and i do usually at least 4 hours a day but what im asking is what could i do to the guitar to get better sound like raising the pickups, getiing new machine heads etc. im not asking "how" to play better, but simply how to get my guitar to make a better sound. and my amp is ok and i like the sound of my speakers with my amp, it gives it a better sound at more ranges, and it doesnt make it louder, but im willing to try anything so i geuss ill unhook them for now.

Thats it. Practice practice practice.

Or - buy higher end stuff. New tuners won't change your tone one iota.

Did you hear Slash's tone in the above video? Crappiest guitar on the planet.

I'll make it as simple as I can....nothing can make your guitar sound better.
Go practice.

What everyone else said. He uses his neck pickup a lot for solos. His pickups are not high output. More of a vintage type. He relies on volume more than gain.

Buy a better guitar. I'm not being mean, but play your guitar what it is - or possibly look in to cheap GFS pickups. You're not maximizing your guitar's potential most likely - it can sound better just by you becoming a better player.
