Today I tried putting a Gibson poker chip on my 2017 Studio HP and was unable to do so. The threads on the new toggle switch barely engage the nut by less than a turn, so there's no way the washer can fit in between. Has anyone been able to add the washer to their 2017? Does Gibson sell a nut that can reach down to the threads on the switch?

PS: I had written Gibson CS via their website asking them if there would be any issue adding the washer & they assured me it wouldn't be a problem.

Does the nut you're trying to use look like this,

The one I have looks like the second pic, but without a washer as there's no way it could reach the threads if it was used. The first one looks like what I need. Where did you find it?

Guessing here, But if the nut doesn't solve the issue maybe getting a switch with longer threads..Although you'd be getting into voiding certain aspects of a warranty territory on a new guitar.

Or just take the poker chip off.

Hi...i am a new user here. As per my knowledge the threads extend down the drilled hole enough to get a good bite on the switch craft 3 way switch. The long toggle switch has short threads and the short toggle has longer threads on the top. My guitar worked fine with the short toggle but I wanted a gold toggle and could only find it in the long version so when I bought it and tried to instal it the threads did not extend enough through the top to screw the stock nut on.

FWIW, I was able to put a toggle switch washer, bought directly from Gibson, on my 2017 SG Standard T. No issues

There's two washers on the switch in the cavity. Remove one and you should be fine.

So Gymbow, did it fit all OK and how does it look now?

Hey Lefty,

I bought the nut shown by Chasenblues and it worked great. Also changed the knobs. I bought a black PG, but I think I like it better with either no PG or the original cream one. LMK what you think. Thanks for asking!!
