Saw a very tempting deal in my local guitar forum. Dealing with the guy tomorrow.

Its supposingly a 95 standard. How does it look? Real or fake?

Replies would be very much appreciated! :thumb:

Looks okay, but the tuners aren't stock, the nut isn't the original one and it has been refretted. The owner has overtightened the retaining nuts on the tuners, that's the reason why you have those 'circles' around the tuner nuts. Same problem on the picture below. I hope you can it really cheap, otherwise do not bother.

I have the same finish problems around my pegs. Came this way new. Never had the pegs tightened and it was there.

In adition to everything that has been mentioned, the case isn't the original one (should have come with the brown/pink one). I'd say it's a modified and refretted original but, without clearer pictures, can't be a 100% sure

Definitely refretted. The nibs are missing. But genuine Standard.
Sweet color!

Yep, as said before: tuners, frets and case are not original.
Serial number should be 9xxx5xxx.

The guitar looks absolutely killer!
That finish is one I would get in an instant. Easy to "vintagize" and make look like a '58 - '59!
Plug it in and feel it.
If you get a hard-on, act as if nothing is happening, put the guitar down and wait for the cool-off before you make an offer.
Deal the price vs non original parts.

Good l*ck!

That's it? All I have had to do this whole time when I get a hard on is walk off instead of spending my cash....damn I am a dummy, thinking with the wrong head, I guess! :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2::laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

Just saw the same ad... Seller did mentioned the tuners were changed. It's a very good deal, looking at the price the seller is offering. Most are actually selling $600 to $800 more.

However he didn't mention about the refretting and the case. Better ask him about it.
