Hey everyone, I apologize in advance for my silly questions. I really don't know anything about guitars. My dad has always wanted a Guitar and its his birthday in a couple weeks so I bought this from Craigslist for him. I know its a Replica but I was just wondering if anyone can tell me what approx year it is a replica of or anything about the guitar. Ive always heard people talking about Les Paul, Gibson so I grabbed this. Thanx in advance guys/gals..

Hey Gammybird, thanks for the reply. Yes its a bolt on neck, there is a plate on the back with 4 screws. Ill post a pic. There is no serial number on the back of the headstock, but it looks like there was some kind of decal peeled off. Ill weigh it asap and let ya know.

This doesn't really fall under the category of replica, buddy. It's a pretty neat guitar and I am sure it is a player, but there are several giveaways that this guitar is not anywhere near a top-end Gibson and I hope the price you paid via Craiglist was reflective of it's quality. Don't get me wrong, I am not knocking it, but there are literally thousands of Les Paul inspired guitars out there, and it is hard to tell you much about an single example of them 
Hey Mono, no worries. I didnt buy it to try and make money off. I just wanted to get something that I thought would be a good first electric guitar for my dad. I got it for about 300 with a case and electric tuner. I just wanted to be able to tell him about it if he asked.

I don't think that it would be a Canadian Fakai. I don't think that had any bolt on necks, or stickers with serial numbers....same with the Dillon. I wouldn't let a bolt on neck deter me as there are a lot of decent bolt on's out there, just take a look around this site and you will see! It is a nice looking guitar and may sound great. Either way, it's a gift and after all it is the thought that counts. I'm sure he'll be very happy with it.

Thanks Gammy, I hope yer right! I guess we will know once she is plugged in.
As long as it sets up fine and stays in tune then it will play.

Not Fakais. A headstock similar to the pic in the OP was used by Tokai for their North America exports.
It's the same as with the dimpled UK headstock.

Guess I should have said, not only Fakais.
They have officially used a similar headstock shape on guitars made for North America.
It's really hard to find pics, though.
Anyway, here's a Fakai with the UK headstock.
Thanks for all the info and help everyone! The mission was a success, I gave it to him last night and he actually cried abit, I dont think Ive ever seen the stubborn old bastard cry before!! Tmrw the amp gets here and we can actually plug it in! Keep your fingers crossed!! LOL
