Last week I bought a 2017 Nashville Black Beauty 3 pickup

Today. I attached gold pup covers to the Nashville handwired pups -unsoldered so I can back to stock...
Though I hate the alignment on burstbucker bridge pup covers and have already ordered a neck one which ALWAYS line up better over the screws....
Can't believe I forgot that....

And a vibramated Bigsby.

I have gold speed knobs and black/gold reflector knobs but am leaving the black speed knobs for now...
And have not and probably will not install the 5 ply pickguard despite initially planning on it...

It looks too cool without the guard and the black knobs...kinda mean looking now...I'm even leaving it sans poker chip...
It's grown on me for 2017s...I hope they bring them back though

Too cool. Good job!!

I'd add the poker chip though...and perhaps top-hat knobs.

That's a great looking guitar none the less. Have fun!!

The poker chip may or may not go on...
It's very odd for me to not have one but the lack of one is starting to look cool...

I've also never kept black speed knobs on a black guitar...

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on some of the late 60s early 70s reflectors as I LOVE the really small top hats with the flange/brim much flatter/bigger....

But I want them new and shiny to fit the guitars new/shiny aesthetic....like this but new:

Wonderful job Chris! (For me pickguard ON!! )

But now I can't stand that Nashville bridge, it's a punch in my face. :)

You deserve this;

To be fair, it's a Nashville model :naughty:
One day, pier we will jam together and I will let you go through my entire collection with a crowbar and take off every single nashville bridge LOL

Ah ah ok....but check the Bigsby its't not pulling the strings against the chunky Nashville bridge edge (along the entire vibrato range). ;)

U and me ----> :h5:

Since the vibramate, the bigsby break angle problem has been completely changed[solved].
The break angle is no longer [so] aggressive...

Surprisingly, the vibramate sits the bigsby high enough that it's even got enough clearance to span a Nashville even with screws back...

Here's one of my other ones u can see the cm elevation now inherent to the vibramate-bigsby system...

That is one awesome custom.

That fancy switch plate cover kind of leans toward what the future maybe for the Historic line............."the USA Historic:".....
.....don't take me serious, just a joke.:naughty:

Knowing what you can do Chris, I believe you have some cool ideas for this one, can't wait to see.:thumb:

I was kinda taken aback by the cover.
It is very heavy duty and well casted..

Neat touch by Gibson...

I am in a bit of 3 pup obsessive mode right now and hope to one day want 2 pup lesters again...

I'm even considering doing a 61 white 3 pup SG to [almost] exactly replicate sister Rosetta tharpes 64...
Only problem is I only buy new so need a 2014-2017 untouched sg custom...
Though I will use a maestro vibrato...I love the maestro...
I've never owned an SG...

Thanks for the compliments on my ideas :h5:
Wonder what my luthier will instruct him to route a third cavity in a brand new SG lol

Incredible Chris! So happy for you!

What a fine example of a Les Paul Custom ebony done right. I am NOT a bigsby person but that one could turn me.

A very HNGD. Enjoy it in good health! Get yourself a nice strap for your shoulder's sake though -- this ain't no ES LP :naughty:

lol....so true....it is a boat anchor
Especially with the 3rd pup, vibramate and bigsby...
The vibramate brackets and screws are surprisingly heavy...the bigsby is hefty as well...

I still haven't put on a better fit bridge pup cover but I will the next time I restring it..
The tone is astounding....it's sorta crazy that handwiring would cause such a unique tone but it could also be the 3 pups..all I know is I am in love...

This is the only les Paul I've ever owned without a pickguard because I cannot bring myself to drill into her...she is too beautiful...

Another pic

Added a poker chip, knarled screw and gold tip selector.

Theses are the final mods...finally...

I am not drilling for a guard...
