Hi all!
Just finished converting my '96 Les Paul Standard from the factory Nashville bridge to a Gibson ABR-1.
Here was the guitar with the Nashville bushings removed..

Maple is hard to come by here is Australia so I had to cut plugs from a fretboard sanding block that was made of maple using a plug cutter and sizing to perfection using a lathe, they glued in nicely.

I purposely cut the plugs a little taller to scrape level with the body afterwards (being careful not to damage the surrounding finish)..
Here are the plugs scraped flush to the body and holes being drilled using a drill press..

I then finished the holes using amber tinted nitrocellulose lacquer and tapped the holes for the posts..

I decided not to slot the saddles (with the exception of the low E because the action was noticeably higher on the low E). For the rest of the saddles I used the 'tap of the hammer' method that Gibson uses and it's been working well with my preferred string gauge (11-49)..

I have noticed a dramatic increase in resonance and volume which is what I was chasing before I performed this modification. The guitar always sustained well with the Nashville, I haven't noticed a big change in the sustain time with the ABR although the way the note rings out is different, more musical to my ears. Overall I am happy with the way the guitar feels, plays and sounds now!
