I've been to Daytona twice. Homestead many times.

I quit watching about 15 years ago due to they stupid changes.

I watch Indycars and MotoGP

I stopped watching after Dale died. Just could bring myself to watch it anymore.
I was at that race. All we knew at the time was that he crashed at the very end.

We found out what happened later.

I've watched hundreds and hundreds of Nascar, Indy and F1 races.
I remember bits and pieces, but the day Dale died I remember where I was, what time it was, what I was drinking and snacking on. I remember all the interviews. The sight of Dale Jr, Michael Waltrip.. Darrel Waltrip....I remember it all.

It was the saddest day of motorsports to me that I've ever experienced.

Greg Moore's death was a close second.
I remember watching that race with my Dad. Wen Greg hit the inside wall upside down we knew it was bad.

Gah!
What happened to 'Crank It Up!?'
Unless I missed it.
Yammering commentators go on for four hours; I can see what's happening.

I forgot to mention one more thing: NASCAR going green.

It's just the most tone deaf initiative ever. People go to the races want to smell the fumes, hear the loud engines. They just don't want hybrids running around the track.

I'm all for NASCAR as an organization doing what they can to be energy conscious or environmentally responsible, yadda yadda. By why inflict this onto the sport? Do the people up in the owners booth have any idea what got them there?

I'm watching the race today. There are tributes to Kobe. Jeff Gordon claims he chose the number 24 wayback when because it was Kobe's number. Could it be?

Uh, Gordon debuted in NASCAR five years before Kobe's first NBA game. Nice try.

I like this track today, hugging the wall, diving down low, not a lot of yellow flags.
