Well, I brought my new Fender Super Champ XD home today. I haven't gotten to really get to the " meat " of it as of yet but my initial impressions are good.
The cleans sound awesome, which is one thing I've been missing with my Marshall. I already have a couple of favorite amp voicings; #3 which is a heavily overdriven Tweed, #9 which is a high gain British stack, and #13 & 14 which are high gain metal tones. #16, which emmulates an Acoustasonic, is pretty smooth too.
I do have to say that I am disappointed with the Hot Rod voicing though. My Hot Rod that I owned had a much better overdriven tone than the amp voicing on the Super Champ.
The eq, which is only treble and bass, respond well. I had them both dimed and 10 and all amp voicings sounded nice but did roll back the treble to 8 on a couple. I will probably leave them pretty close to where they are and play with the tone controls on the guitar a bit.
I am not a huge effects guy but I think all of the effects are at least useable for home use. All 4 of the reverb settings sound good to my ears and the chorus, while not near as nice as say a Boss, is pretty lush.
Only a 10 inch speaker in this booger but I think it should hold up fine as I only plan to use this for home at rather low volumes. It does does get loud though; I turned it up only briefly but I seriously think it could keep up with most drummers.
Im not a tech guy so sorry for the such a " elementery " review. I may update this after spending more time with the amp.
