I play stuff badly :laugh2:

I like playing;
Bluesbreaker Clapton/Green
Cream
Fleetwood Mac
Zep
Allman Brothers Band
BB King

I thouht about getting a vintage distortion, but I think the overdrive will get me most of the way there. I also have a Dunlop Clasic Wah.

For the stuff you're playing, you have a really nice setup and any thing more would be just a bonus. Like others have already suggested, you could get a delay or chorus (or some other "swirly" effect) if you want to spice things up here and there.

I was also thinking about a clean boost but there are loads out there. Katan Boost looks quite good and I have nearly bought the T-Rex twin boost several times.

A clean boost is handy to have. There are tons of them out there and often players want one that is "transparent" and there is some merit to having one that leaves your sound as intact as it can. But, I wouldn't get too caught up on that as, when you boost your signal to either create more overdrive from the amp or more volume, your tone is going to change a bit anyway; in light of that, I'd go with whatever one sounds best to you whether it's "transparent" or not and more expensive does not necessarily equate to better.

I have a Catalinbread Super Chili Picoso that I bought six or seven years ago and it's a good pedal. I bought it because it has a ton of boost on tap; it does boost the lows slightly which, when using it as a volume boost for an amp is a good thing (reciprocal equal loudness curve eq'ing) but it's not a good thing for ramping up your signal going into the amp in the pursuit of more preamp overdrive.

I actually bought a second one because I like it so much.

The second KoT is for use at home and I use that as a straight ahead dirt pedal with an old Fender Champ.

Mee too! :thumb:

and so much more...

trouble is with pedals like the hotcake and ocd is that you need three each of them to cover all sound spectrums and guitars used!

That's one of the beauties of the KoT - it's two pedals in one. And at $235 for two badass overdrives, that's a pretty sweet deal. :thumb:

Yeah, the 2nd hand market for them is crazy everywhere; I see them going in that same price range in the US.

If one really wants a KoT, the best thing to do is just get on the list; when your name comes up and if you've changed your mind, they'll just sell it to the next person on the list. And the wait isn't really quite as long as they make it appear to be - it isn't a short wait, but it's not terrible as I recall.

I think I will do just that! I don't know why I didn't think to do that before now. :laugh2:
