I've procrastinated enough... can't believe it's been almost 8 months since I bought my first Les Paul, and it's a beauty. Finally I have some good sunlight and took some pics. Photographing it is harder than I thought, have to deal with all the reflections. As far as I can tell it has a one-piece back.

I've been looking at those for quite a while. What does the neck feel like with the laquer? I have the Les Paul Studio Faded Cherry which has a satin neck but the 50's rounded profile. For my small hands, I want the 60's profile but the neck finish has kept me from buying it.

Awesome looking guitar though! Classic. :dude:

It's got a very natural look to it - like a vintage instrument. I like the natural binding very much. Congratulations!

Here are two shots of the neck profile. The neck really thins out as it gets close to the heel. However it still has a nice but subtle rounded shoulder near the top for your thumb to hook onto. I'm still kind of divided about the neck. I don't think it lets you play faster, but it does make it easier for me to play the higher frets with the guitar slung lower down my body. I think a 50's neck will make bends easier to control because your hand gets a better grip around the back of the neck.

As for how it feels, the neck feels really smooth. It feels great. I do hear tiny 'squeaks' when my thumb runs up and down the neck, but that sound does not get into the output mix when plugged in.

I realized there's no pics showing the headstock, so here goes.

It looks like a sixties tribute with humbuckers and a gloss finish. The body looks just the same to my eye other then the gloss, the use of the cap as a binder, maybe the wiring is different and that sort of thing, but I never knew they made this guitar.
