just now when I went to use a charger cable on my computer USB slots, I found a black USB regular to USB mini, probably USB-C. To the best of my knowledge, I possess nothing that is USB-C powered. There is one possibility, but it would mean the cable had been there since 2021. I have to find that gadget and see what it uses.

It’s 2023, it’s either USB-C or Fett sent you something in the mail.

They are different though.
interesting you say that. BTW I just figured it out. I bought 2 things this year, a rechargeable electric arc lighter and a new vape battery. The mystery cable was for the arc lighter. Which works great on candles, and only so-so for smoking. The vape battery uses a USB to unidirectional mini. It's still the original version of the battery and I'm sure they'll eventually release the USB-C version.

I’m not sure if USB-C has the physical resiliency if USB-A, but it’s far nicer to not have to turn it over every time.

that's great, because it's so damn true. Why is it you can almost never get them in the first time?

It's a nicely robust connector. It's on a couple of pieces of my audio hardware, as well.

I have several external hard drives that use that connector, and yes, a printer.

I've been considering the Scarlett Solo. What do you think? Dig it?

Yes... it's nice. Quiet, has good pre's, and works well with Reaper and my MBP. It's one of those, "it just works and works well" kinda things!

My Akai MPK Mini uses that one. The only thing besides printers I have ever seen it used with.
Positive Grid Spark uses that one. Spark Mini uses USB-C

I actually have a 90 degree USB-A to USB-C cable for my phone in the car.
The USB-A is inside the console and is needed for the Android Auto connection.
90 degree keeps the cable up front and out of the way, and it can plug in either way.

USB-C is great... wish everything used it. Fender Mustang-Micro uses it for charging, I'm surprised that the NuX headphone amp doesn't.
