Look... Mostly everyone is assuming the worst, and yes that can happen. But if you look at similar boards owned by other guitar companies or those aimed primarily at a certain brand, they all have "OTHER" categories because they know most of us own more that one brand or style of guitar. Face it, LPs can't sound like Strats. They know it. MyLP was bought because its popular, because of the chemisty here, the mix of Gibby and OTHER brand chatter. Messing with it would be tragic. Also, Gibson has its own forums. Why would they want a second?

To whom ever bough MyLP... please don't mess with a good thing.

Any corporate buyout is sad, it certainly comes with thier bias, and rules.
One of the reasons I came to this Forum was it's indepedence to brand,
I saw love of guitars, and guitar makers, was really enjoying the community.
I do understand reasons why the Owner would like to make money, but I
really do not want to support a company with my presence here, my sanctuary, to get away from everyday life. I don't mind seeing adds from a variety of bussiness, but exsperience in capitalism has taught me that Corporation translate to Control, but i will stay to witness what is Soon to be Change.

my post does however speak to the seemingly ever present idea of 'lack of communication' within so many organizations; I've seen it so often, and in most any organization I've been involved with, and at any & all levels.

Lack of, and/or no communication seems to be the (general) nature of things ...............

i didnt take your post that way at all jim, i just quoted it to help make my point. i forsee a bit of mod bashing over the next day or so, depending on how this goes, and i just wanted to assure members that we are doing a lot of work at the momentto keep this from turning into a circus.
Led Zep Fan and I have been working a bit behind the scenes to make sure things dont turn into a free for all. we need to keep cool heads here, or the place will implode.
most of us are intelligent people that are waiting for the announcement to be made before passing judgement, but there are still elements that love a good bit of drama and this needs to be regulated.

I for one, certainly hope that there is no mod bashing. You guys are the worker bees who have to face the arduous task of balancing the amount of latitude that the membership here has while also keeping those who complain reasonably happy. Add to that being a volunteer, and it would be simply too easy for the majority of people in your position(s) to walk away, with the feeling that it's just not worth it.

I'm sure that you guys don't hear it enough, but regardless of what goes down, know that you at least have this members gratitude for what you guys do.
